Starting Out In The Evening

Leonard Schiller, a novelist in his 70s, wakes every morning, puts on a jacket and tie, and sits at his typewriter for a specified number of hours each day, attempting to hammer out his fifth book, which he's been working on for 10 years. What a life! Haven't heard of Schiller? Of course not, because this scenario is from a film, Starting Out In The Evening, a quiet, moving story about the life of an old-school writer, a dying breed in the age of coffee-shop tappers. Things heat up, though, with the introduction of a nimble graduate student named Heather. As Leonard Schiller, Frank Langella gives a command performance.
