Remember those clinically boring films describing the human reproductive system that we were force-fed in school? The ones that were allegedly supposed to educate us, but were really intended to drain every drop of lust, allure, and mystery from the dirty deed? They weren’t particularly effective on that score, but even so, we made up for it in the ensuing years with boatloads of Grade Z porn. At long last, a more enlightened mix of sex and celluloid is at hand. The sex-positive proselytizers at Good Vibrations, positively orgasmic over last year's debut competition, once again invited all comers to make short films evoking, exposing, and exploring the limits of lustful bodies and brains for the Good Vibrations Amateur Erotic Film Competition. Do you like to watch? Thought so. Everyone has a hankering for naughty (moving) pictures, though the winning Good Vibes entries generally eschew ramming and rutting in favor of sensuality, poetry, eroticism, and desire. There's a good bit of mirth, too, making for a rousing (and arousing) good time. Sex Ed was nothing like this.
